ANNIVERSARY PORTRAIT RELEASED ON NEW ALBUM
Curvepoint Media has released Brandon Hendrix's Anniversary Portrait on a new album titled CURRENT featuring trumpeter Adam Hayes and pianist Kris Carlisle. The disc is available internationally through CD Baby and will soon be available on iTunes. Adam Hayes has performed throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Asia with over 40 professional orchestras. He is currently Artist-in-Residence and Assistant Professor at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. Kris Carlisle received training at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and is currently Associate Professor at Berry College.DOBRZANSKI PERFORMS WORK AT FESTIVAL
Brandon Hendrix's Landscapes for solo piano was performed at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg as part of the UCM New Music Festival/Society of Composers, Inc. 2011 Region VI Conference on April 9, 2011. The performer of the work, pianist Slawomir Dobrzanski, is a graduate of the prestigious Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw and currently serves on the faculty of Kansas State University.SHEET MUSIC PLUS BEGINS DISTRIBUTING BAHRAH

Two of Brandon Hendrix's concert band works, American March and Triumphant Overture, were performed at the Society of Composers, Inc. National Conference at the University of South Carolina in Columbia on November 13, 2010. The Congaree New Horizons Band performed the works under the baton of Dr. Jeremy S. Lane. This represents the first-ever performance of American March.HENDRIX WINS ANOTHER ASCAPLUS AWARD
After first receiving it in 2009, Brandon Hendrix was the recipient of another ASCAPlus Award from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers in September of 2010. This reputable award is bestowed upon ASCAP members whose music falls into an open-ended array of musical genres. Also, awarded musicians are typically at the early or midlevel range of their careers, and their unique contributions to the music industry typically have generated more prestige value, as opposed to monetary compensation. Many of the award candidates have yet to showcase their work or have it reviewed in mainstream broadcast media. This news comes less than a year after their release of The Rise of the Incans, a level 3 work for concert band. Brandon Hendrix's Bahrah for percussion quartet was performed on February 4, 2010 as part of the 2nd Annual New Music Festival at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (click here for photo—.jpg, 69 kb). Fifteen composers from across the country were represented in a one-day, three-concert event. Brandon Hendrix's Brass Quintet was performed at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College in Flushing, New York on November 15, 2007 as part of the Society of Composers, Inc. On October 31, 2007, the Stone Fort Wind Quintet performed Brandon Hendrix's Quintet for Winds as part of a concert titled “Old and New,” featuring composers of the past and present. The Stone Fort Wind Quintet is the resident woodwind quintet at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.WORK CHOSEN AS THEME MUSIC
On September 1, 2007, Brandon Hendrix's Fanfare for brass quintet aired for the first time as the recurring theme music for “Music from UT,” a radio program on KMFA Classical 89.5 FM in Austin, Texas. The show airs weekly during the fall and spring, highlighting the most exceptional live and local performances at The University of Texas at Austin. To hear the broadcast, simply tune-in to “Music from UT” any Saturday during the fall or spring at 8pm CST. The broadcast is streamed live over the internet as well; simply click here at the aforementioned time and choose a streaming method from one of the three provided options. This honor was also mentioned in The University of Texas at Austin School of Music's publication Words of Note in the spring of 2008.HENDRIX RECEIVES GRANT
In May of 2007, Brandon Hendrix was awarded a grant from the John Anson Kittredge Educational Fund. This fund awards grants to artists and scholars for travel to conferences, research, and other artistic scholarly projects. The award was given to Hendrix because of his performances throughout the United States, including Arizona, Tennessee, Iowa, Missouri, Georgia, Illinois, and New York. Hendrix was recognized on October 18, 2007 in OnCampus, an online newsletter used to publicize the accomplishments of The University of Texas at Austin. Quintet Attacca, the resident woodwind quintet at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois and winner of the 2002 Grand Prize at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, premiered Brandon Hendrix's Quintet for Winds on April 15, 2007 after a nationwide call for scores.
